Date: Dec 6, 2021 18:00:00
Brisbane South PHN
6:00 - 7:30pm (AEST)
Responding effectively to domestic and family violence in a medical setting requires nonjudgmental, supportive attitudes; a knowledge of the physical and emotional sequence of the violence; an understanding of appropriate and inappropriate responses; and having good networks with local family violence services.
This virtual webinar aims to improve the primary health response to people affected by domestic and family violence living in regional, rural and remote Queensland by identifying resources and programs that are available to build capability and capacity in primary health providers.
Hear from expert speakers including Dr Kelsey Hegarty (Safer Families Centre of Research Excellence), Betty Taylor (Australian Institute for Strangulation Prevention) and Stacey Ross (The Centre for Women & Co).
