Suicide is the leading cause of death in Australian young people. Suicidal thoughts and behaviors, including self-harm, are associated with risk of future suicide and other adverse outcomes.
This webinar will provide an overview of current approaches to preventing suicide in young people across universal, selective and indicated levels of the population, review the evidence behind these approaches, and provide information about available resources for working with young people experiencing suicidal thoughts and/or behaviors and their families.
The webinar will include a focus on how social media and digital technologies can be used for youth suicide prevention.
