Longreach - Drug and Alcohol First Aid Training

Lives Lived Well, with the support of Western Queensland PHN are proud to deliver the first 

Drug and Alcohol First Aid training in Longreach.
 

VENUE:   James Cook University Centre for Rural and Remote Health, Jabiru St, Longreach
TIME:       Registration 9.15am; Training 9.30am – 4.00pm
COST:      FREE and catered.
 
Drug and Alcohol First Aid is a tailored one-day workshop that delivers up-to-date, essential, evidence-based information about drug and alcohol misuse, effects and treatment options. Upon completion, participants will be better equipped to:

  • Recognise problematic drug and alcohol use
  • Describe the impacts of problematic drug and alcohol use
  • Identify the types of drug and alcohol supports and treatments that are effective in reducing use
  • Support people who have drug and alcohol problems

This training is suitable for people working (or volunteering) in the community services sector, health workers or administrative staff, or people who are new to the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector.


WQPHN welcomes registrations from:

  • WQPHN Commissioned service providers
  • Primary Health and social services workforce living and working in the WQ region
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce/ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander key community members from WQ
