Genomics for GPs - Webinar Session 1
Queensland Genomics in partnership with CheckUP Australia is hosting three online sessions on genomic education for Queensland's general practice workforce. Each session will cover the following topics for genomics in healthcare:
- Clinical presentations of common conditions
- Ordering genetic tests
- Prenatal screening and non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT)
- Specialist referrals for genetic conditions.
Dr Michael Gabbett is a practising clinical geneticist and university academic. He has taught medical genetics for over 15 years to a variety of healthcare professional groups including nursing, allied health, doctors in training and general practitioners. He currently leads Australia’s only postgraduate degrees in diagnostic genomics at the Queensland University of Technology.
