The Western Queensland PHN and Insight are proud to launch “The Starter Pack” – a free educational package designed to assist general practice managers, practice nurses, Aboriginal Health and Social and Emotional Wellbeing Workers in primary healthcare and practice reception staff to build the knowledge, skills and confidence to effectively respond to patients experiencing problematic alcohol and other drug (AOD) use in Queensland.

The Starter Pack is specifically designed to support AOD-related health care in primary practice, and complements the AOD education offered to General Practitioners by both the RACGP and ACCRM. This package will also help build broader AOD knowledge for those participating in the ASSIST screening skills training also underway in Western Queensland.

If you work in primary healthcare and want to improve the way you work with patients experiencing substance use concerns, then sign-up for the free eLearning and Lunchbox Education Sessions held between November and February.
