The Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic Expression of Interest Now Open

August 1, 2025

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has notified Western Queensland PHN (WQPHN) of an upcoming grant funding for the expansion of Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinics (EPPCs).

Background

On 9 February 2025, the Australian Government announced funding of $19.6 million (GST exclusive) over three years (2025-26 to 2027-28) to support the establishment of 11 new EPPCs in primary care settings and provide funding extension of 2 years to the existing 22 EPPCs. This measure will expand the network of EPPCs from 22 to 33 across Australia.

Purpose

The intention of these EPPCs is to maximise the role of GP/nurse led multidisciplinary care teams to embed the management of endometriosis and pelvic pain, and treatment of perimenopause and menopause symptoms as a core part of the care pathway for these conditions, optimising primary care.

Funding of up to $770,000 over a period three years will be provided to selected General Practices. The funding will enhance capability and capacity, and will be targeted to General Practices which currently deliver services focused on women’s health, including endometriosis, pelvic pain management, perimenopause and menopause, to become specialised EPPCs.

How to apply

The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing is seeking nominations for existing General Practices in our region. General Practices are encouraged to submit an expression of interest form should they meet most of the assessment criteria, or where a genuine need in the local area has been identified and a General Practice is able to demonstrate how it could utilise the funding to meet the assessment criteria. For further information please see Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain EOI 25

Applications close Tuesday 5th August 2025, 5:00pm

Applications will be evaluated by WQPHN and shortlisted for nomination, based on the strength of the submission to meet the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing GP Clinic Assessment Criteria. The Department of Health, Disability and Ageing will then assess the nominated practices against the selection criteria and the alignment with the grant objectives and outcomes.
