Lung Cancer

Lung Cancer Screening

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death in Australia but finding it early can make a big difference. When detected at an early stage, treatment is often more effective and outcomes are much better.

The National Lung Cancer Screening Program offers free low-dose CT (LDCT) scans for people aged 50–70 who are at higher risk due to a history of smoking. This simple scan can help detect lung cancer before symptoms develop.

Who is eligible?

To be eligible for the program you will:

  • Be aged 50 to 70 years.
  • Show no sign or symptoms of lung cancer (be asymptomatic),
