Activity update from Phoenix Australia

In the first eight weeks of operation, the advice line has received 10 enquiries that have led to 38 practitioners receiving consultation and advice about disaster-related mental health issues. Additionally, 37 local community organisations have been contacted by the project team.

Some of these organisations have expressed interest in attending training sessions on Psychological First Aid and Skills for Psychological Recovery. In response to this, Phoenix are offering education sessions later this month as part of the Queensland Floods practitioner support service, and these initial sessions will be hosted by RFDS.

Upcoming training

Phoenix Australia will be delivering Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Skills for Psychological Recovery (SPR) training sessions on the following dates:

17 May 8.00-3.00 PFA

Townsville

For any questions about the training, please feel free to contact Anita Savic from Phoenix on 03 9035 5599.
